Sylvia and Larry came from Victoria, PE1 to celebrate their Valentine’s Day wedding on a Maui Beach. However, Valentines Day is in the middle of our rainy season (we do have to have some rain, friends, to keep the island green and covered with fruits and flowers) and Cupid decided to be a little naughty. On the morning of February 14, rain was indeed falling on the Kihei beaches where the wedding was planned to take place.
Fortunately, Larry and Sylvia are very resilient, patient and undefeatable. Together we decided to pursue the option of relocating to a garden wedding on the slopes of Mount Haleakala, where the sun was shining brightly. Having been watching the weather forecasts, I had already reserved a beautiful garden location with a covered gazebo, just in case. We all know how hard it can be to Book your wedding party and it this case it wasn’t the exception, we had to find a last minute reception because of the weather.
Sylvia and Larry, good-naturedly, drove up the mountain. Unfortunately, the rain followed them. We were standing in the reception room, musing over this development, when the videographer called. He had been unavoidably delayed in a traffic situation. I will always remember the grace and patience Larry and Sylvia displayed in these circumstances with much gratitude.
Photographer, Steve Slater, was also my hero and took some pre-wedding photos with the lovely couple under umbrellas and walking through the lush gardens in the soft rain. The photos turned out to be very romantic.
All of a sudden, the sun came out, the videographer arrived, and Sylvia and Larry enjoyed a very loving wedding celebration.
My generous videographer, Craig Gomberg, treated the couple to a complimentary beach shoot afterwards, because the sun came out on the beach too!
It was a wonderful Valentines wedding, thanks to my amazing clients and photographers.

Review:
Aloha Ayesha
As we leave lovely Kihei and head to Haiku for a couple of days, we would like to take a moment and say thank you for coordinating our special day and hanging in there with us despite the rain and other mishaps! You, your photographer and videographer went out of your way to make our day turn out perfectly. Canada has a reputation of kind people but we can honestly say it has met its match in Hawaii… Thank you again and we hope someday to be back in your beautiful Maui. Take care!
Larry and Sylvia
