Gloria and Ben knew what kind of location they wanted for their Maui Wedding. It wasn’t the beach. Most of our couples do want the beach, understandably, as we some of the best beaches on the planet. However, we sometimes do meet clients who want a lush, flowered tropical garden, with streams and waterfalls and we delighted to provide that.
Gloria and Ben were firmly decided on a garden wedding and were thrilled when they saw the lush Kula Gardens for the first time. It exceeded their expectations with its lavish array of flowering trees, bridges, exotic plants from around the world.
Ben and Gloria enjoyed their garden wedding with much romance and affection. Here at Merry Maui Weddings, we are always thrilled to see a couple so happy and in love. The photos by Cathy Simone speak for themselves.
The beautiful, elegant bride was from South Korea and the handsome, princely groom from Maui. They enjoyed beautiful weather in December on our lovely Aloha Beach.
Min Jung and Edwin were a playful and romantic couple, who delighted in their beach, after wedding photography by Cathy Simone.

Chris and Nina’s dream of a romantic beach wedding came true. They celebrated a sacred wedding, on a spacious quiet, beautiful beach cove and above all else, a loving commitment shared with each other.
Nina and Chris are such a sweet, devoted young couple, that it was my joy, to provide them with the dream wedding they hoped for and were blessed to celebrate.
Cathy Simone, owner of Maui Imprints Photography, was pleased to capture their beauty and love in photographs to treasure for a lifetime.
May the holidays always bring warm memories of love and vows exchanged, on a beautiful Maui beach, to Nina and Chris.
Emmy and Michael chose a wedding in a tropical garden with live Hawaiian music and Hula. That is something we love to provide!
Michael and Emmy and their parents loved the lush Haleakala gardens, full of flowering trees and bushes and chose a very pretty covered bridge over a mountain stream, to proclaim their vows. Their lovely attire accentuated their beauty, which created an ambiance of a Victorian garden wedding.
Kovika Ortiz provided beautiful Hawaiian guitar and vocals before, during and after wedding ceremony. Ayesha Lee danced a sacred Hawaiian wedding hula to bless the couple and their guests.
It was a most lovely garden wedding, captured with skill and love by photographer, Cathy Simone.
The holidays are a beautiful time and they can also be daunting. They are a time of memories and evaluating our life, as well as missing people and situations that are no longer with us. And of course there is the time and money demands and it is so easy to feel like there is not enough of either.
I find it helpful to focus on the present and its gifts, what I do have and what I can give. I do my best to remember to say thank you more often than wishing or complaining about what I don’t have. There is always so much to be grateful for and so many needs for love to fill.
Of course I am lucky, I get to plan and perform weddings during this time, which is always a joyful focus. So there is so much positive life to celebrate. And the beauty of nature alone, here is always uplifting, if I but pay attention.
Still there is the temptation to miss a loved one who is not here or feel stressed about how much there is to do. So, I recommend keeping it simple. Avoid the malls at busy times, have tea or meals with friends and families, make cookies to enjoy and give as gifts, go for walks to enjoy nature or Christmas lights.
Most of all remember to love. Give gifts of love as often as you can, a smile, a thank you, a helpful hand or embrace. Listen to the heart and needs of those close to you. Carry some money out of the store to put in those Salvation army pots. They are even grateful for a handful of change. If you are a believer, go to church and celebrate the reason for the season. Go to a tree lighting ceremony or child’s Christmas play. There are many delightful and free things to do this time of year.
You might find yourself in the true Christmas spirit.
What is your most romantic wedding fantasy? Mine includes a live Hawaiian musician playing a romantic serenade, as we sip champagne, while watching the sunset. Kai Akin, supplied the music for Anabel and Ulises romantic Maui beach wedding. Then how about following that with cake by the ocean? This wedding was entirely their dream. It just happened to resemble my fantasy. Cathy Simone provided the wedding photography.
Kathrin and Michael wanted a simply beautiful wedding on the shores of Maui in a lovely secluded space, where they could be themselves. We put this together for them, with the help of spirit in weather and beach allowing them a gorgeous beach cove, to celebrate their wedding in peace and beauty. Michael and Kathrin’s love adorned them, like a million fragrant roses, as they exchanged their vows of love and devotion, on our Maui sand, with the waves providing the beautiful music of nature. Cathy Simone captured the beautiful simplicity of pledged love, in the midst of the amazing natural beauty of Aloha Beach Cove, on this perfect day.
Michelle and Jeff traveled to Maui with six of their close friends, to celebrate their wedding on our lovely South Shore. The bride and groom and guests were blessed with perfect weather and a gorgeous beach cove, all to themselves.
Everyone looked very beautiful, especially the bride and groom, who were perfectly attired for a beach wedding. They looked as if they had stepped from the cover of a wedding magazine. Michelle and Jeff were ardently romantic, as they exchanged their vows in a sweet ceremony. Afterwards, they enjoyed their photos, taken by Cathy Simone, with their friends in humor and joy.
Congratulations Jeff and Michelle, you were wonderful to work with and come back to Maui soon!
Ulises and Anabel lovingly planned their Maui wedding for many months, while living in Washington. They had beautiful ideas for what they wanted and it was our job to bring together a team to accomplish their dream.
We chose together, the elegant Five Palms beach lawn, over looking beautiful Keawakapu Beach, one of Maui’s most favored beaches. Anabel selected a lovely bamboo chuppa, decorated with chiffon drapes and luscious tropical flowers, arranged by Addie Browne and provided by Kahului Florist. Anabel and her beautiful bridesmaids, all in pink and orange traversed a festive path of fragrant plumeria blossoms and rose petals to reach the handsome groom, and their guests, all waiting in happy anticipation for the gorgeous radiant bride.
A most romantic wedding ceremony, heralded by the traditional conch blowing of Kai Akin, and then his spell-binding ukulele and voice, gave much joy to all present. It was a fitting beginning for the marriage of Anabel and Ulises.
Wine and Hawaiian appetizers were served on the lawn to all the guests as they participated in photography by Cathy Simone. Then everyone enjoyed a sumptuous dinner in the open-air Five Palms restaurant, overlooking the waves of Wailea.
It was a beautiful dream come true of a wedding and reception.
