Andrea and Bradley celebrated a joyful Christmas wedding on December 18 on Aloha Beach. They had a jolly congregation of family and friends with them and the people at home were able to watch via Skype thanks to the the skills of videographer, Graig Gomberg.
Andrea had a beautiful Great Gatsby inspired wedding dress and hat and was absolutely gorgeous. Bradley was elegant and handsome.
Everyone enjoyed a beautiful sunset complete with rainbows and no rain. It was a wedding from Heaven.
Joshua and Sarah enjoyed a most splendid and simple wedding on a quiet Maui beach at sunset. They are going to have a large family wedding this summer on the mainland but enjoyed the peaceful romance of their private wedding this Christmas season.
Joshua and Sarah met each other in their graduate studies, each on the path to becoming college English professors. I believe Shakespeare himself would have considered their nuptials most pleasing. and poetic.
The holidays are a beautiful time and they can also be daunting. They are a time of memories and evaluating our life, as well as missing people and situations that are no longer with us. And of course there is the time and money demands and it is so easy to feel like there is not enough of either.
I find it helpful to focus on the present and its gifts, what I do have and what I can give. I do my best to remember to say thank you more often than wishing or complaining about what I don”t have. There is always so much to be grateful for and so many needs for love to fill.
Of course I am lucky, I get to plan and perform weddings during this time, which is always a joyful focus. As well, I am planning my own wedding. So there is so much positive life to celebrate. And the beauty of nature alone, here is always uplifting, if I but pay attention.
Still there is the temptation to miss a loved one who is not here or feel stressed about how much there is to do. so I recommend, keeping it simple, avoid the malls at busy times, have tea or meals with friends and families, make cookies to enjoy and give as gifts, go for walks to enjoy nature or Christmas lights.
Most of all remember to love. Give gifts of love as often as you can, a smile, a thank you, a helpful hand or embrace. Listen to the heart and needs of those close to you. Carry some money out of the store to put in those Salvation army pots. They are even grateful for a handful of change. If you are a believer, go to church and celebrate the reason for the season. Or go to a tree lighting ceremony or childs christmas play. There are many delightful and free things to do this time of year.
You might find yourself in the true Christmas spirit.
We are enjoying such beautiful beach weddings these days. Winter in Maui is better than summer anywhere else!
Do you like bright blue skies, temperatures in the low eighties and gentle trade winds caressing your cheeks and waving through the palm trees? How about whales celebrating your wedding by leaping and spouting?
Why not consider having a beach wedding on Maui this winter?

Aunica and Alex had a most beautiful beach wedding this past Saturday. Their families came from the mainland and friends too. The December day was perfect on the beach, clear blue skies with little white clouds floating by, warm sun and a cool breeze.
After the beautiful, romantic wedding ceremony, everyone went to the Old Lahaina Luau for a festive reception.
Aunica and Alex are such a beautiful young couple and I know they will have a wonderful, loving marriage.
Congratulations, Aunica and Alex.
The Christmas season is full upon us and it is beautiful. Today we have a holiday wedding on the beach and the weather is perfect.
Driving about and doing errands, in town, these days is a bit challenging. There are so many shoppers. (Don’t worry visitors, this is not a problem on the resort sides of the island, where you will be staying)
Yesterday, I was a bit late for my dentist appointment, as I could not find a parking place, because of, all the shoppers. I expected to be scolded by the hygienist and instead she was very kind and sympathized with me. I felt so relaxed and grateful for her generosity, the whole appointment was easy. She had to change her schedule for me and did it with smiles.
I resolve to show everyone I come in contact with, this same patience and encouragement, the sweet milk of human kindness, that the spirit guide advocated in “Christmas Carol” It makes life a joy.
“God bless you each and every one”
